In my country, some of the most common apps include Zalo, Whatsapp, TikTok, and Facebook, which are widely used for social media, short video sharing and business relations. On the other hand, the popularity of specific apps can vary, and it would be challenging to pinpoint the least popular apps as it depends on individual preferences and usage patterns.

2. What’s the difference between the internet and television?

The internet and television differ in their delivery of information and entertainment. Television, however, offers scheduled programming through broadcast or cable channels, delivering audiovisual content to a passive audience.

3. Why do some people like to read the news on the internet instead of getting it from the TV?

Online news seems more appealing because of various reasons. First, the internet offers real-time updates, a broader range of news sources, and the ability to access specific articles of interest. Additionally, the internet allows for interactive engagement, such as leaving comments or sharing articles, fostering a sense of participation and community.

4. Is the library still necessary? Why?

Definitely. Libraries are irreplaceable despite the proliferation of digital content. One reason is that libraries provide valuable resources beyond books, such as access to research databases, academic journals, and archives – which are not always available on the Internet. Additionally, they serve as community spaces for learning, studying, and accessing information for individuals who may not have reliable internet access or prefer physical books.

I see two main groups of library visitors. The first group consists of academics who seek a quiet and focused environment to do research and study. The other includes teenagers and university students. Many libraries have modernized facilities with high-speed Internet and 3D printers which made them a draw for millennials. They come here to enjoy the bandwidth they might not get anywhere else.

6. What are the differences between old people and young people when they use the internet?

As far as I can tell, older generations may use the internet primarily for 2 purposes: communication and news updates while younger individuals tend to be more active on social media, engage in online communities, and consume a wider range of digital content. However, in some cases, old people use the Internet very often thanks to their high level of digital literacy, familiarity with technology, and online habits. For example, my grandfather is excellent at technology. He made friends with a Facebook user 2 years ago and they seem to be on the same wavelength. They talk, share articles and play online chess games on different websites every day.
